Pi Kappa Gamma Packaging Honorary Fraternity
 
About
Pi Kappa Gamma, formerly known as the Society of Packaging Engineers, is an organization that that provides supplemental packaging education to students pursuing a career in the Packaging industry.  Pi Kappa Gamma enhances the packaging students’ education through providing cooperative education opportunities, hosting information sessions and events that encourage networking with industry professionals.  Pi Kappa Gamma members annually attend the PackExpo convention, which provides hands on experience with state of the art packaging technology.  Pi Kappa Gamma hosts a bi-annual career night with the New Jersey Packaging Executives Club that consists of a panel of presentations by Packaging Professionals from industry.  Additionally, the society hosts an Annual Alumni Luncheon to build and sustain close relationships between the Packaging students and Rutgers Packaging Alumni.
 
Objectives
To foster and perpetuate the scholastic and professional careers of all its members, present and past.

 To promote the social, economic, industrial, and professional status of the Fraternity, all its members, and the Packaging Engineering Department at Rutgers University as a whole.

To spread awareness of the importance of the packaging function in industry to the world.

To be ever conscious of the environment and always strive for ways to better save the planet through packaging development.

To provide service to the Rutgers University community as well as society at large.

To serve as an example of excellence in packaging.
