Packaging Industry Career Night
March 1, Thursday 7:00-9:00pm CoRE Auditorium

Co-Hosted with the New Jersey Packaging Executives Club (NJPEC) www.njpec.com. The NJPEC is an association of experienced packaging professionals who can act as a resource network for troubleshooting packaging problems and help with the development of solutions.

Agenda: A panel of Industry Professionals that are apart of the NJPEC will talk about their experiences within their respective industry and about the opportunities in the Packaging Industry. This will be a very informal event where students can chat with the professionals one-on-one.

This is a good opportunity for students pursuing a career in the Packaging industry to network with seasoned Packaging Professionals and to learn more about the opportunties or career paths in Packaging.

Bristol Myers Squibb Plant Tour
Wednesday March 28th, 9:30-11:30a

Tour Description:
The Clinical Supplies Packaging Department is a small scale production line of pharmaceuticals before they are cleared by the FDA to be sold to consumers. (E.g. Production of Tylenol is on very large scale, before sold to consumers a small scale production line was created to produce and test pharmaceuticals for clinical trials)

The agenda:
The tour will focus on the equipment and systems that are utilized in clinical packaging as well as the type of work that they do.

Tour will begin at 10a, students will leave from Rutgers Busch Student Center at 9:30a, and return before 12p. This will be a carpool event. Maximum of 15 students for this trip.

Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, a Johnson & Johnson Presentation

Background: Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics is a Medical Device and Diagnostic company that is a leading provider of high-value diagnostic products and services for the global health care community. For more than half a century, the company has been committed to providing accurate, timely, and cost-effective solutions for screening, diagnosing, monitoring and confirming diseases.
Agenda: A representative from OCD will present about Ortho-Clinical Diagnostic and its role in Johnson & Johnson, and then will talk about the responsibilities of a Co-op and the learning opportunities for a Co-op within J&J.
Free Pizza and Refreshments will be served.
 
PackExpo International 2006, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL
October 29-November 2
PACK EXPO International will focus on the latest developments in packaging technology and will showcase exhibitors’ state-of-the-art advances in packaging machinery, converting machinery, materials, packages and containers, and components. The most prominent companies in the industry will be exhibiting and making product introductions at the show. PACK EXPO International is a biennial event (every other year)—ideal timing for important industry updates and new product technology.
 

The Executive board of Pi Kappa Gamma (six Packaging students) will attend PackExpo to promote Rutgers Packaging Program and to develop relationships with companies for future co-op and research opportunities.

Kraft Food Presentation Updated
November 27, Monday 6pm Barr Lounge

Agenda: Kraft Foods Global Packaging will present about the 'typical' day of an engineer within Packaging, the type of projects an engineer would expect to receive, how to succeed in a corporate environment, and the structure of the company.

Bring your resume if your looking for a co-op in the Packaging Engineering Industry.

Do now know what Packaging Engineering is? Come find out about Packaging and the opportunties within the program.

After the event, pizza and refreshments will be served.
